Shostakovich - Symphony No.8

At home:
Khachaturian - Suites: Spartacus, Masquerade, Gayaneh

The Khachaturian was the result of hearing the waltz from Masquerade during an Olympics figure skating short programme!

    A nice and jolly Shostakovich session then? ;-)

    The more I listen to the 8th symphony, the more marvellous I think the first movement is.

    Yes, "jolly" indeed! ;-)

    First movement of the 8th symphony is a masterpiece, although, for obvious reasons, I have a soft spot for the opening of the third movement! #altocleffan
