Very interesting.ViolaMathshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05245505796473322898noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2922502857264230388.post-29778867623206988472009-09-02T23:12:55.104+01:002009-09-02T23:12:55.104+01:00I might make that into a blog post, then - it all ...I might make that into a blog post, then - it all stems from my first encounter with the Webern Variations as an impressionable 16-year-old. I had no idea what was going on, and so bought the score and learnt to play it - that process of getting inside it really turned my musical world upside-down...Stuarthttp://stuartestell.co.uknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2922502857264230388.post-50189928290904926332009-09-02T22:39:10.687+01:002009-09-02T22:39:10.687+01:00Hello Pak? I had a friend at college who adored Birtwistle but could make no sense of Handel. It turned out that until he came to college he'd hardly listened to any music pre-1900. I had heard hardly anything post-1900 at that stage. I'd be interested to hear some day how you came to love Webern (and of course Feldman) so much! Thanks for commenting too BTW :)ViolaMathshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05245505796473322898noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2922502857264230388.post-83013418017197883942009-09-01T22:23:38.092+01:002009-09-01T22:23:38.092+01:00See for me it's the other way round - Beethove...See for me it's the other way round - Beethoven will never be like Webern to me!Stuarthttp://stuartestell.co.uknoreply@blogger.com
